Passport photo sizes by country
UK & Schengen — 35 × 45 mm
Required for UK passports and all Schengen visa applications. Head must fill 70–80% of the frame height.
US Passport — 2″ × 2″ (50.8 × 50.8 mm)
Required by the State Department. Square format, head between 1 and 1⅜ inches tall, white or off-white background.
India Passport — 35 × 45 mm
White background, face centred, no shadows or glasses. Follows the ICAO standard used by Passport Seva.
Canada — 50 × 70 mm
IRCC requires a larger 50 × 70 mm photo. Select the Canada preset and the crop ratio adjusts automatically.
UAE Visa — 35 × 45 mm
UAE visa and Emirates ID use the standard 35 × 45 mm ICAO format with a white background.
China Visa — 33 × 48 mm
Slightly narrower than the standard. Required for Chinese visa applications at embassies and consulates.

Can I make a passport photo at home for free?

What size is a UK passport photo?
A UK passport photo must be 35 mm wide × 45 mm tall. The head should fill 70–80% of the frame height. The tool presets this size automatically when you choose "UK / Schengen".
What size is a US passport photo?
A US passport photo must be 2 × 2 inches (50.8 × 50.8 mm), with the head between 1 and 1⅜ inches (25–35 mm) from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head. Select "US Passport" in the preset dropdown.
What size is an Indian passport photo?
An Indian passport photo must be 35 mm × 45 mm with a white background, following the ICAO standard. The India Passport preset is pre-configured to this size.
How many photos fit on an A4 sheet?
At the UK 35 × 45 mm size with a 3 mm gap, 5 photos fit per row and up to 6 rows fit on a single A4 page — 30 photos in total at maximum density. The tool computes and defaults to the maximum that physically fits for your chosen size.
Is the output print-quality?
Yes — the downloaded PNG and PDF are rendered at 300 DPI on a full A4 canvas (2480 × 3508 px). This is the standard resolution expected by photo labs and home printers for sharp, print-ready results.
Does anything get uploaded?
Nothing is uploaded. The entire process — cropping, adjustments, tiling, and PDF generation — runs locally in your browser. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.
